A Community-based Art and Maker Center
We've begun our Sustaining Donor Drive! If just 43 people donated $20 a month, we would raise over $10k this year!
Every donation allows us to bring more programming and resources to our community.
Just click the donate button and when prompted click the little box that says
"Make this a monthly donation"
One time donations are also invaluable. We appreciate them all!
It truly takes a village and we thank you all so much for supporting us.

About the event
Bill Lacy's Artist Statement I enjoy making art. I also use art to alleviate my anxiety. The current work I do is humorous and layered in different characters. I use my imagination to create the characters that make up my work, especially critters and people.
Apprentice Entertainment
Violet Crabtree's Stop Motion Animation Workshop final project will be shown at the Sanctuary's Arts! Arcata event on Friday, November 11th from 6-9. The students of Arcata Playhouse's Apprentice Entertainment program, along with the help of instructor Violet Crabtree, created a short stop motion animated sequence that will be looped and projected in the Great Hall at The Sanctuary. You are invited to view the work, and the student's handmade claymation puppets will also be on display. The film clip will become part of Crabtree's ongoing feature film project "Wildfur," a surreal and funny tale about Bigfoot, screen addiction, freedom, greed, and re-connecting with nature. They will also be showing a rough, looped version of the sequence Crabtree made from the community film event she hosted last month at the Sanctuary — 51 people participated!
