Wow the first Homage to the Jazz Message show celebrating Horace Silver was a blast! Co-producers James Zeller and Ramsey Isaacs are excited to celebrate the music of Kenny Dorham, the great trumpeter and seminal composer who Art Blakey referred to as "the uncrowned king". Dorham, known by contemporaries and afficionados as "K.D.", was present on Art Blakey's first recording in 1947 with a group called "Art Blakey's Messengers" and was a member of the original "Jazz Messengers" group in 1954-55 with Blakey, Horace Silver, Hank Mobley and Doug Watkins.
